eDofE is the online system where you can record your DofE programme and activities, and prove what you have done in loads of different ways. Whilst undertaking your sections you will need to record your activity and upload evidence. It is easier to do this as you go along – don’t leave it all to the end!!
Participants
Once you have been formally accepted onto our DofE Programme you will be set up on eDofE by your Leader.
When you start your Bronze award, you will typically receive a welcome email from DofE in October. This contains your user name and a temporary password (based on your date of birth DD/MM/YYYY), and your eDofE number.
This is when you will add in the details from your programme plans and you will need to upload your evidence for the activities as you complete them. The programme plans need to be agreed with your assessor in advance - the programme plans form makes it easier to gather all the details, and it also provides helpful information for your assessor on the award in general, and what is specifically expected from them. It is a good idea to hand a copy of the form to y our assessor.
Accessing edoE
You can access the eDofe Portal Here
There is also a mobile version you can download to your phone that you can access here. The video below should help you to get started on the portal.
You will now need to add the details for each section to your account. Use your programme planner to upload the information to eDofE.
What is Evidence?
Evidence is just proof of the activity you have undertaken. For each activity, you can collect photographs, videos, scans of certificates, letters etc. You can also upload documents and a copy of your activity log for each section.
Activity Log: These handy Activity Logs can be printed out to help you keep a track of the activities you do each week for your DofE programme. Why not stick them on the fridge to remind you to update them:
If you are unsure how to add your evidence, you can watch this video.
Any questions you have can be messaged to your leader via the eDofE system, or in the Whatsapp chat created for your group.
REMEMBER: if you have a problem it is better to sort it out NOW rather than waiting.
Assessors Reports
Once you have finished a section you should ask your assessor to complete an assessors report for you.
Assessors can add their reports directly into the system here, or follow the advice included in the programme plans form. All they need is the participant’s eDofE ID number, their Award level (Bronze, Silver or Gold) and the section they are assessing them for (Volunteering, Physical, Skill, Expedition or Residential). The young person must have entered their section details in eDofE before the report can be submitted.
The comments automatically go to the participant’s DofE Leader for approval before being added to the participant’s account. We ask for their email address and phone number to enable the DofE Leader to contact them should they wish to discuss the assessment and so we can send a copy of the report submitted.
